    Default BBX vs BB10 - Z10 name

If RIM didn't have to change the OS name from BBX to BB10, do you think this phone would still be called the Z10?

They'd have trouble with ZX. The old Sinclair Computers Sinclair ZX Spectrum name is still owned by Amstrad, and comparisons with that computer would be abound in markets it was big in (UK, especially).

I was half-joking. A quick google search brings up a lot of zx's (cars, games, motorcycles, tech)

I'm completely astounded that Blackberry woukd use the model Z10, using the only letter in the English alphabet that has a different pronunciation in the US! I'm Canadian, but Americans hearing "Zed-10" in the announcement were for sure laughing! Why would they make such a dumb move?? I just don't get it...

At worst, zee or zed is a humorous distraction but they did the launch in NYC and the device isn't available in the US until sometime in March while the UK is getting it today and Canada next week. That doesn't seem to make sense.
