Such an appropriate statement... and one that perfectly mirrors my feelings.

Between the cluster of XBBM, BB Link (which just sucks), horrible Z10 battery life (that's only getting worse with every update... can't even get thru day with 2 batteries), the "contacts" fiasco, the PlayBook lies, the never ending need to hard reboot... I just don't know how much longer I can take it (after 13 years).

Started having this issue 1.5 days ago (fast discharge, hot back cover). I don't use BBM (have zero contacts, feeds etc), and this morning I decided to look at the battery usage log (love the device monitor!) and BBM is mercilessly eating battery. 200%+ over the last 36 hrs. Screen cap below.

I opened up the BBM app, and it gave me a connection error, and crashed out. I reopened, closed it.

BBM is now at. 01% power usage, and the back isn't hot. I'll monitor battery today and post back. Seems like BBM was stuck trying to connect to something, and went FUBAR.

That's a technical term.

Problem solved. Probably not a coincidence, that most of the people reporting in this issue aren't avid BBM users. Otherwise, they'd frequently be logging in and flushing out the hang-up issue before it became a problem.

Here's my most recent log. BBM is still a deminimus power and cpu user. No heat and no unusual battery drain since the error was resolved. BBM's power and CPU usage has been zero since the crash was cleared out.
