Has anyone else noticed that the battery life has decreased since the two OS updates from Bell this week? I've gone from being able to use my phone on LTE for about 12 hours per charge to about 7-8 hours per charge with all of the same settings.

Results have varied. No matter the update - LTE = battery hog.
I'm with Rogers and I've only noticed a slight increase in battery life. I'm curious to know where the 60 savings points were.
Not mine, after the updates my battery life has been mint. I've been on calls, YouTube, using the browser, apps all day and still have 30%.

My battery life is so crap. I am so jealous of everyone who is getting 10-12hours+
I keep wifi, bluetooth, nfc and everything off. LTE on but I always have LTE coverage mostly 5 (rogers). I have the latest update. The day after I updated the software my battery was an amazing 16 hours with moderate use and every since it has sucked. All i have is 2 email acounts (hotmail & gmail), a twitter account, and linked in. I never run any active frames. I keep my display at about middle. Battery will die in 4 hours with moderate use, which is so lame. I am thinking I have a faulty battery or something..
I've been ranting and raving about this. Getting tired. Just super upset. Think possibly mine has gotten worse after the update. I was so looking forward to better battery now the exact same or worse. And I'm not even on LTE.
I'm with Virgin Mobile so I got the update at the same time as Bell customers. Battery has been very good before and after update. Was not good for my first week with the phone, but now I don't worry too much about what I have turned on.

My battery life has been not bad. I'm doing 10 hours but with heavier usage. It has only been a couple days since the Bell update, so we'll see how it pans out.
Doing a battery calibration and refresh really does make a difference.

faulty battery. that is NOT normal
I've had a significant improvement in battery life. I would kill my phone by 11am on a work day and have to charge 3 times. Since the Bell update my battery will last throughout the work day but that is it. Here are my settings now.
LTE off
3G on
BT on
WIFI on
NFC off

Keep your phone brightness low, my device was dying really fast untill I turned it down from having it high up.
I never had an issue from the start, but after the update my battery is even better. I would consider myself on the heavy side of usage.
Maybe I have the greatest Z10 ever made. I've never had an issue with any of the common complaints! Lucky me!

Do you do a battery calibration??
Posted via CB10
I actually did 9 am to 11 pm yesterday and it was my first day since the bell update.
I let my battery drain after the update prior to fully charging.

Yes...that's why I mentioned it.
Let the battery completely drain before charging it for 3 days in a row.

Before update I was getting 8 to 10 hours between charges with moderate use. After update 8 hours since I unplugged my Zed battery is at 50% again with moderate use so yeah I have seen quite an improvement!

Sorry my post was supposed to read "how" do you do a battery calibration but u answered it in your reply anyways. Thx.
I only got my Z10 2 days ago and as soon as I powered it up there was the 150MB OS update so I can't speak for what the battery life was prior to that but I can compare it to the BB Torch I used for the last 2 years and I must say the Z10 battery life is not very good. Last night I charged it fully and did a power off. This morning before noon it was near the 1/2 mark for the charge (powered it on around 7am today) - that is not what I'd consider to be good. So, if you plan to use this in the city where you can plug it in once a day then great, but if you will be travelling out in the country or between cities then this may not do it for you.
The battery takes about a week to break in I was receiving 6 to 7 hours between charges then increased to around 11 hours after about a week of fully charging discharging. Now with the update I'm now receiving 14 to 16 hours between charges with moderate use. Check out the various posts about the battery break in issue as well as tips to optimize battery life.

I'll re-post the following here as it has some bearing on the thread:
A final update on my incredible battery performance after the 148mb OS update plus the 7mb battery update from Bell:
As mentioned above, the phone was unplugged from the charger fully charged at 1:10am Saturday morning. At 7:30am Monday morning the battery was reading 20% so I put it back on the charger.
That's almost 53.5 hours using 80% of the battery = 1.5% per hour. It was a quiet weekend phone-wise: 2 short calls, two dozen SMS messages, 4 emails, 3 short app updates, 1 app download and approximately half an hour of browsing (including 6.5 hours on bedside mode).
This is from a phone that started out using a full charge in 4.5 to 6 hours (all I had to do was fix a faulty email configuration and wait impatiently for Ma Bell to send updates).
I'M IMPRESSED!! Love my Z10!

yea i think its time for me to do a drain. Im getting about 12 - 15 hours of use, which is great, but i might be able to get more with a drain after the update... maybe.
I have noticed a huge improvement when you change your sync settings for email, contacts, calendar. I'm getting much better battery life with upgrade and chgs to sync frequency. :)

I drive alot and use my Blue tooth very often. But now turning it off when not in use. This has helped my battery. What about NFC do u folks have it turned off as well? Didnt really know i had it on my phone untill yesterday! lol So i turned that off as well. Hoping this was a battery hug too so i can see an even better battery :)
I never received the secondary update that some have gotten.
I just received the 144 mb update. Anyone else not receive the secondary update?
I am wondering this because my battery life has been substantially less since I have done the update. My battery has never been as bad as it is now. I lost 40% overnight just idling.

Draining your Lithium Ion battery to dead will shorten your life span of your battery. It harms cells with in the battery so they cannot be used. Lithium ion batteries love to have juice going through them. Yes they can be plugged in overnight, just not left plugged in for 24 hours or more. They do not like heat so keep them away from heat sources.
