Oh, is today an Apple announcement day? That's always exciting.

Like them or not, they do tend to help push innovation ahead.

Facetime? Now every phone has a front facing camera. Retina Display? Nobody was bothering before that, now the PPI on cell phones is lightyears ahead of desktop monitors.

They may be behind the curve on some counts, but they usually have a few really good ideas that'll start popping up in other phones down the line.
