To those who have a BB Z10 in the Philippines like me who can't update the OS since the three official carriers have not started carrying the Z10 yet, I was able to update the OS by removing the sim card (it is still updating as I am posting this message) and did an update through the link below: (got this from a previous post on this forum though at that time, there was no available update yet)

From the previous 10.0.10.058, there is an upgrade to 10.0.10.089 or 80 (sorry did not remember the specific version), will update as soon as I finished downloading the update to my Z10.Update: I got 10.0.10.82, i was alreadyso sleepy the other night seeing different numbers.

I hope this update solves the battery issues that I am having. (8 hrs with no to very minimal use and 5hours with medium use).

If you don't mind kabayan, how much Z10 in Philippines (locked and unlocked version)? My brother is asking one and I'm thinking that if the price is almost the same in Middle East, I would probably buy him in Philippines... tulong na din sa ating ekonomiya...

The price now is ranging from 29k to 32k. It is not available yet sa malls. I bought it online from a reliable seller. He is selling it now @ 31,900.00 though when I first bought it, the price was way too high compared to the prices now.

Best to use Internet Explorer to update. I'm on 50% now of downloading the software to the z10.

Talaga? I read the update made the battery lasts longer and that it fixed some issues on the calendar. Anyway, too late now to stop as I am already halfway.

ohh sorry to hear.. did you try without the sim card on?
I tried with the sim card on, it gave me the same version installed in my unit.

Oh that's weird, I am now on 80%. Use internet explorer because I get errors using Mozilla.

Finally, it has finished downloading and installing the update. The software version is now 10.0.10.648... sorry not 89 nor 80

Finished updating and I must say the update improved the battery life. 8 hours of minimum to medium use, phone is still @ 50%.

Just observed some lags though,it is not as fast as it was before. Still observing it.

You shouldn't be lagging unless you are running the max capacity of app

I'm really looking forward for the update . I think I'm going to try to have my Smart PH Prepaid SIM cut into MicroSim and hope it triggers the update (some Smart PH users are getting it already)

I don't have many applications in my z10 except for Crackberry and everything that came pre-installed with the unit. I have just updated the unit last night so no application yet in there.

hmm.. I also don't understand why would you have that. When I first tired it and there was no update yet, it showed me the version of my z10 and not lower. This time when I tried, it gave me the new upgrade.
Did you remove your sim card and is your Z10 stl-001?
