    Hi,
I do not get automated upgrade notifications for/from my installed Blackberry Apps. When I browse through the list of my available apps by clicking each I learn if there is an uprade available with a message but this is very annoying to do it manually. There is not even a red star at the corner of the BB App icon
Anyone knows the "trick" to get automated notification?

    Thanks in advance

I have the same problem. No notifications for app updates, and sometimes I have to do a search on the app itself which means I have to do a search on every app just to see if there's an update - it's been a poor experience so far, and I hope a fix is going to be in a future update.

You dont have to do this, just click the bottom left tab in BBworld, then my world, my apps & games, then the option icon in the bottom right, then check for updates - if any are available it will let you choose updates from the top bar displaying downloaded/available

But yeah, OP is correct, notifications are not pushed, I get like 1 out of every 10 updates appearing in my hub

I have same experience. I infrequently receive hub notifications (bell sign) for an app update. I think the only time it happens is when I have manually checked for an update. By this point BBW (not the porn abbreviation lol) will have given me the list because I have asked for it.

I then have to go back to the hub and open all notifications, which is simply annoying, I wanted those notifications without going into BBW not AFTER I have already discovered them manually! #pointless Therefore the OPs problem, that I share, also raises another problem for myself and I should imagine others too.

I think BlackBerry is working to get us BlackBerry World notifications. I say this because, since Friday my BlackBerry World icon has been Sparked. And every time there were app updates. Several others have confirmed this too.

No automatic app update notifications for me too (on 10.32). I had to manually check for updates in BBworld then I get notifications to my hub.

This doesn't always work. A couple of times I've read about available updates here, but nothing comes up when checking for the update as you described. The updates didn't show up when selecting the app from my list either. I had to do a search, click on the app in the search results, then the update came up as soon as it went to that app's page.

The star bug has been a common one for many people for awhile now. Hopefully they fix it soon so people can stop looking for ghost updates.

I encounter the same problems, no auto update. But this isn't a real big issue. I just go to app world and select check for updates. The notification wills appear in my hub. Annoying but not unbearable.

Let's give BBRY sometime to resolve these issues. They have done a great job so far.

Sigh...this is so damn annoying. We get this same post almost every day. Do a damn search.

The answer is that updates (on all OS's) aren't shown to the user instantaneously. BB World, for example, refreshes every week or so. This is so that updates don't become annoying to the average user. If you wait long enough without updating your app, they will show up. This is how it is on every single OS out right now. If you want to check for an update quicker than the refresh cycle, you are free to do so manually.

Sorry, not true. On my iPhone I got daily notification by the "red star". Far from annoying. With Z10 I did not get a single notification for a week.

That's right, f.e. I get the Update Notification on my iPad Mini (and also before on iPads, iPhones) the minute I have an internet connection and the update is out. With WP and Lumia it shows the updates once a day, sometimes the next day.

With BB Store I experienced the same problem. I got 1 notifications in over a week, Twitter, which came about 4hours too late to me too (I already installed the update). I would love to receiver instant notifications on updates! At least I have a list in the store of all installed and purchased apps as a list and can check updates with one click there. I don't have that with WP8!

You guys are mistaken, iOS takes just as long to check, and so does Android. Here's the difference: In iOS, as soon as you enter the app store, it checks for updates automatically. Blackberry and Android don't do this. In Android, you have to hit the overflow key, and go into the my apps area, and the same is true for BB.

So while you guys think you're getting push notifications of app updates on iOS, you're not. The reason you see updates so quickly is because as soon as you open the app store (or if it's running in the background), you will see the updates, and most people use the app store frequently...that's why you see those apps so fast.

Again, most consumers don't want to be bothered by app updates all the time. A "weekly digest" is much less intrusive for the average user. power users are still able to manually check for updates.

The update notifications shows immediately and here the store is neither open nor running in background. So YOU are mistaken!

Ya.... I think that it's pretty clear that BBW has some issues with update notifications that they need to fix up. I'm not buying the "it's working as intended" thing.
