    Hi,

I want to create this thread for all the Z10 STL100-1 users with the battery issue, the one where the device shuts off at a certain percentage of battery capacity.

I'm trying now for several weeks to get it solved because I don't think it is the battery itself...

I hope that somebody has the time and patience to read this and takes the time to think with me for a solution.

So I created some screen shots from the Battery Guru App that give a little information about the battery life.

    Battery STL100-1-img_00000258.png
    Battery STL100-1-img_00000259.png
    Battery STL100-1-img_00000261.png
    Battery STL100-1-img_00000262.png
    Battery STL100-1-img_00000263.png
    Battery STL100-1-img_00000264.png
    Battery STL100-1-img_00000265.png

Today I was at a local store where I was abled to test another battery in my Z10, funny thing is that the battery came out of an STL100-2. When I put my battery in the STL100-2 it directly showed 72% in stead of the 94% that mine was showing.

The battery out of the STL100-2 into my Z10 showed 100% health and 1 cycle... not really convinced about that, but it was totally different than what mine was showing...

When I put back my own battery, it directly showed the 72%...

    Battery STL100-1-img_00000271.png
    Battery STL100-1-img_00000272.png
    Battery STL100-1-img_00000273.png
    Battery STL100-1-img_00000274.png
    Battery STL100-1-img_00000275.png

So I am really interested what regular readings look like as a reference.

Health readings are wrong, your battery is in perfect condition... just ignore it, and try the method in the picture, it worked for almost all stl-1 owners who faced the same problem as yours.

Is this normal after the followed procedure?

    Hi Xales,

I tried that several times, without any luck... But for now it looks like that the drain goes very well, using it now for an hour and I'm already on 85%...

Have had some bad battery life since jumping on the latest STL100-1 leak, so will try the methods described above and report back soon

If you're experiencing shutdown when the battery is not even 0% yet, there's a problem with the battery reading. Most probably, you also see the charging state at full although the level reading is still about ~90%.

To "fix" this, once your battery is said to be full but still not 100%, unplug the charger and plug it back in and the battery will start charging again, keep doing this until you get 100%

I'm also very disappointed with battery life of my STL1.. with medium to high usage it lasts 7-8 hours at max.

Take it off the charger at 8 am and by 2 it needs to be charged again.

I'm on 10.2.0.1521. But it was same with the 10.1 MR update as well.

You should trade off for the 4537 build of 10.1. I got amazing battery life on that build 11+ hours on 3G. I loaded the 10.2.0.1521 leak and the battery life is just average ~ 8 hours on 3G.

I think I got the worst of all problems. Started since upgrading to. 273. I've seen a bunch of threads done numerous tricks but no luck for me. The latest I see now on my Z 10 the after I swapped batteries with my cousin... I put my battery back in... got the normal reading.... now It charges to 100% and it shuts of around 71%. but when charging it's not showing in battery guru plugged into usb wall... it shows unplugged... I love my z10 but this os really disappointing. I am thinking about getting a new battery cuz no trick works for me...

I also have the same problem. The problem I am having is that even my battery is way more above 20%. When I am using the phone suddenly I will hear a notification sound and my phone will turn black screen. And I can't open it again. I need to plug in to the charger and wait for 5-10 minutes because when I am trying to open when charging at the beginning it shows my phone is out of battery. When my phone reopens it self the battery level is the same as before shutting down which is more than 20%. Any helps? Will reloading os help?

I think I resolved the issue after posting. I noticed lately that even without battery in the device... it turns on, which is really weird. I plugged in the charger, plugged into the wall also and after a few minutes I removed the battery. Funny thing the phone stayed on at least for 20 to 30 seconds then it shut off. Without the battery the red led was still coming on and blackberry appears on the screen. I left it like that until the led wasn't coming on anymore. After like 5 minutes I placed the battery and the orange led came on with the power lightning on the screen. After it turned on it was showing like 28% in guru not the 71% it was shutting off at before.. I turned the phone off holding the power button and leave it like that to charge till this morning when the green light was on. So far it has been performing like it should. When I plugged it off it was around 98% at 8 am at right now after 5 hours it's at 69%. I am gonna keep an eye on it as I usually get the problems around 20%. But this fix is sure worth the try.
