It is not very often a battery pull should be required. I have not had to reset my Z10 for at least three weeks now. I did in the beginning because it hit a bug situation. The recommendation was to pull the battery. I have had to do some resets specified from some software updates. I never turn off my phone. It only goes to standby.

It is like your computer at home. It can sometimes run for many weeks and not need a reset. Then one day it hits a bug and needs a reset. The phone is basically a computer.

I had to pull my battery about 4-5 times in the first week, as it was hanging when turning off. Same with my wife's Z10. But that was it. Haven't had to pull since then.

I'm in the same boat. Have not had one battery put, and have had only great performance from my Z 10 battery.
I've had my Z 10 for over a month now.

I pull it all the time. Probably 5+ times per day. In fact, I'm pulling as I type this. I like to pull it really hard with long strokes. It takes about 5 minutes to...wait, what are we talking about again?

Have had my Z10 for about 3 weeks now and until yesterday i hadnt done a battery pull, had to do one yesterday as my number was being changed over to a new sim so the tech guys asked me to pull the battery for a min or 2.

But before that, didnt pull my battery and the phone didnt slow down or anything.

actually... i had to purposely reboot my z10 last night....

i played a video then tried to hook it up to hdmi while still playing and it crashed the video app. nothing i did could fix the crashed app from re-loading.

i had to reboot... that is the only time i've had to purposely reboot the phone.

I haven't had to do a battery pull, but I've been able to get it to lock up (repeatable).

If I go into BlackBerry World and start scrolling through a list of apps, it will eventually get to a point where it won't scroll anymore - not from reaching the bottom of the list. It's like the buffer gets filled and the app locks up. The phone ends up restarting on its own after that.

I don't know if it is a BlackBerry World issue, or the OS (.10.85), but I can get it to do it quite easily. Whichever it is, I'm sure they can fix it with a software update.

I think the biggest advantage of BlackBerry 10 is that everything is a process up to drivers... and the OS is really small. So basically when you kill a process all memory leaks are recuperated. BlackBerry 10 can probably kill all process with even having to reboot the OS

No battery pulls are not necessary. I pulled my phone battery twice so far because the phone hanged. It was not issue with the lack but rather with SD card used in my phone.

Why is the first suggestion from some people always to say the smartphone is defective? Troubleshooting is your best friend.

Posted via CB10 from the BlackBerry Z10
Because that is not near anything I've ever heard, if he said "Os freeze some times " i would have suggested formating the memory card ( worked for my friend) or any other troubleshooting. But to have you phone shutdown and restart all in a sudden and frequently? That is something way too major to keep the phone, if this was normal trust me, all the blackberry bashers would have spread the word by now.

I thinki what you're experiencing is the loading. Blackberry's do that, too much sometimes. But this was worse on older devices - like my Curve 9320, it has a square little clock-like icon when it's finding it hard to cope, and then sorts itself out shortly afterwards - but this problem will have most likely be erased as much as possible on BB10 OS.

Battery pulls to re-set are rare with the Z10. In fact this was rarely required with all the Blackberry phones I have had.
