Hello BB'ians, How are you..?? I'm a newbie to the forum and BB too.. Z10 black( my first blackberry)
Firstly I love to say I love the UI and OS of Z10. Switched from android.
    My questions are:-
    1. my battery is draining way faster even with moderate use on 2G..!!!
    2. Its taking me almost 2-21/2hrs to charge it to 100% from 10%... is it a normal thing or do i need to check trying other alternatives ?
    3. Can i use Q10 battery in my Z10, since both use LS1 batteries but Q10 with 2100mah...
    4. I dont want to see my calender updates on my lockscreen... how to disable the calender updates on lock screen ?

    Thanks

Use of "darker theme" wherever possible will also help your battery life.
I understand "WhatsApp" is a battery drainer, so maybe you should avoid having that app.
If you have NFC and Bluetooth on, turn them off when you don't need them.

Finally, I always carry extra battery for Z10.
    Goodluck

This is normal with the stock charger.

    4. I dont want to see my calender updates on my lockscreen... how to disable the calender updates on lock screen ?
You can disable all notifications on the lock screen: Settings > Security and Privacy > Lock Screen > Lock Screen Notifications

I don't know of a way to selectively disable calendar updates only.

It's your new BlackBerry Z10. Dark themes won't help as Z10 display isn't OLED. The slow charging is due to the output power of the charger. The charger comes with the Z10 might not be more than 750mAh. The higher the faster. For example playbook and iPhone/iPad chargers are above 1A which is much higher and charges fast.
So you can use apple product charger replacing the USB wire with BlackBerry one. (you can find these specs on the charger)

Best exercise is to not charge your battery till it totally drains out and when you put on charge, don't remove till it reaches 100%. keep this cycle frequently you will get drastic battery performance. I get Minimum 8 hrs battery life where my friends get upto 18 hrs.

    Also carrier network depends.

    Good luck

Talking about disgusting battery life. Here's my Z10's horrible performance. I would've never thought I'd say this but this is just ridiculous.

I can safely say what's app is not a culprit in this since I use it as my primary messenger and you can tell..im not suffering from any what's app related battery drains. Just use all the normal battery saving techniques like dimming your screen brightness, keeping unnecessary functions and apps off/closed and just not use your phone so much no matter how awesome it is.

Almost 8hrs which is still poor compared to others. But it's okay for me going by the bad battery days I've experienced.
My screen display is set to about 85%.

It won't. Q10 and Z30 only benefit from dark themes.
