lol, all we can do is hope! 10.1 may have it, but in the meantime atleast there are apps that do this nicely!

Swipe down from top of screen, choose settings, then about, and change the category from general to hardware. That screen then gives you the battery percentage near the bottom of the list.

I'm guessing OP meant displayed in the notification bar... or next to the battery icon (something along those lines)

I wondered if that's what he meant, but I can't think of any phone I've owned which shows you the battery percentage in any notification bar like that, so I'm not surprised its not on the Z.

Alot of devices has it... my Note does. ICS brought that across the board for many Android OS (has the percentage next to the battery icon)

refer to this post for the app that does it on the Zed10 http://forums.crackberry.com/app-ann...1/#post7980742

I hope the next update has it. Currently I have a third party app to quickly check percentage, but it would be nice to see/toggle direct from the top bar.

I've seen a lot of people complaining about there not being a percentage in the battery icon but it's easy enough to find by just going to the settings; if you really need to be that specific about your battery. But I find the battery icon is more than sufficient for quickly checking how my battery's doing.

There is no reason the battery charge percentage cannot be displayed within the animated battery gauge although in reality its function could be implemented by a sequence of colour status indicators (green - 100% to 10%, yellow - 10% to 5%, red - below 5%).

I wish BB integrates battery percentage notification atleast in the "peek" gesture.

I'd love to see a battery percentage indicator. It shouldn't be that hard to implement, and it would just make for a nice convenient feature

It does do that...... it goes yellow under 20%, and goes red under 10%

I hope the battery accurate percentage is shown in the next update. Right now the percentage is shown in 5% jumps, like 95% then 90%, rather than showing 98%, 96% etc under settings>hardware.

yeah, it's in 5% increments till 95% i believe... i recall seeing 99% though, so maybe it goes single % from 95 to 100? I will have to check this to confirm, anyone else noticed this?

They probably didn't want the people to freak out with the battery percentage going down like a egg timer with the first os release that had horrible battery drain lol

I wouldn't mind if the % only showed up when you swipe down, beside the date or something. But yeah I sort of wished they had this feature. However I've seen people mention it so many times I am half expecting an option to be given to use in 10.1

I really want the battery percentage but I want it INSTEAD of the battery icon. or at least something that is really neat and tidy, maybe the percentage inside the little battery icon. I really like how simplified and sleek os10 is as it so without the date, network, etc along the top.

Not to say its useless but what exactly makes you guys wish for this feature so much? For me personally the battery indicator as-is does give me the information relevant to me: how much juice do I roughly have left so I can tell whether I want to charge it or not. Does it matter in your use cases whether its on 30% or 28% or 27%?

It's not a huge deal, but you have to remember some people were accustomed to having/seeing this on their previous device... it just helps a smoooooth transition from one device to another. I never had an issue with this as all my other BBRY's never had the option nor did i get an app for it (never checked) but when my note (Spare phone) got it with ICS update...i used it and found it helpful (now i'm just accustomed seeing it next to the battery).
