Battery life comparison: Z10 vs 9900
For those of you who have switched from a bold 9900 to a z10 how do the battery loves of the two phones compare? I can get a 9900 brand new for $300 and I'm tempted since it will do everything I would want to do and I don't want to spend money for something that's not worth it for me. The battery on my z10 is abysmal coming from a 9700. So in curious about the 9900.

Both are about the same in my testing. Depending on usage and reception, both devices last 8-12 hours. The Z10 might have a very slight advantage but even if so its barely noticeable. This is of course with HSPA+ on the Z10 and LTE off.

Neither the Z10 or 9900 are going to get you comparable battery life to the 9700. My 9630 (of the same vintage as the 9700) was the last BlackBerry that could go 2 days without a charge. My usage hasn't changed much - with the 9900 I could make it to the end of the day with 20-30% left on OS .746. On the Z10 I'm between 10-20% (off charger at 7am, back on at 11pm, using wifi where available and with the radio set to HSPA+, not LTE).

No way to get through a day with the Z10. I'd say half of the 9900.

That's the problem with opinions, everyones is going to be different and everyone uses their phones differently.. Yesterday I had my phone off the charger 28 hours before it died. In my opinion it's lasting 40-50% longer than my 9900 which I just had last. Although that's comparing a battery that's a year old too. I've been able to kill this phone in 8 hours of constant gaming and playing with things but on normal days (for me) it's lasting on average about 14 hours (i'd guess).

Heavy BBM, about an hour of music, Facebook and Twitter every hour, about half a dozen web pages every hour and 4 email accounts syncing.

I came from a 9900 to a Z10. As far as battery life is concerned...the 9900 is a bit better under comparable use. I could get a full day (i.e. 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.) with my 9900. My Z10 needs a top up mid day.

I think my usage frequency is pretty consistent. Naturally I've been playing with the Z10 more... but the novelty is wearing off and I'm getting better battery life. There is still no way that the Z10 can make it through a full day. I think the Z10 will get better, just like my PlayBook did. I full expect to see the Z10 at "full day" capability within a few OS updates. Maybe even the next one.

Battery life comparison: Z10 vs 9900
I came to the z10 from a 9900. I can do twice as much on my z10 and the battery lasts a bit longer.
