Good afternoon all. I am new to the touch screen experience and seems my battery is draining quite quickly. After viewing posts and views on this site
I have changed the settings on my Z10. Is there a screen on the Z10 or function that indicates remaining battery life on the screen or a menu?

Settings > About > Choose Hardware in the dropdown menu.

It only show the remaining battery life in steps of 5%.

Is it a good idea to leave the phone on the charger overnight? I received my phone, unpackaged it and charged it for 4 hours. Today it only lasted four hours. Nothing but calls and a few BBM messages.

Mine always stay plugged in over night. It won't damage your battery.

I also plug mine every time I can during the day.

Hey N8tive - do a few battery conditionings on the phone. I had the same experience as you the first few days.

Use the phone tonight until it literally shuts itself off at 0%. Keep it shut off. Plug it in and charge it until the light on the front goes to solid green.

Do this again one more time the next day. If you don't see improved battery life I will be very surprised.... the battery in this phone seems to improve after a few good charges but conditioning it will help this process greatly.

Thanks for the quick replies, this site is definitely the place to access for information and support. Long time Blackberry user and loyal to the product. This new device
has a learning curve for this old qwerty user, but still loving it.

I can back that up I did 3 battery cycles and now I seem to get 13/14 hours out of it (unless I really hammer the thing lol) when i 1st got it 6 hours was all.

Hello fellow Crackberry posters. Just an update on my Z10. After all your help and suggestions my phone did not continue to keep a charge. I called the support center and they sent me a new Z10 last week. Just to let you know this phone has been drained and charged overnight and as of 12:00 pm today I am still at 90% since turning the phone on at 7:00 am. Surfing the net, B.B.M.. texts and emails have been coming in and still has an amazing amount of charge left. The original Z10 must have had a hardware issue but this one has so far been outstanding. Happy that Blackberry is back.
