How accurate is the app? I'm considering it but it can tell you the temp? The life of the battery? How many times it was charged? How accurate could that info be

Are there any BB developers out there that can describe the API functions for battery information? The LS1 battery has four contacts, so likely has an internal coulomb counter ("gas gauge") that the power management IC talks to. That should be able to provide charge cycles, temperature and fairly accurate battery level. Assuming the power management IC has the lithium ion charger, it may or may not be able to measure and report the active charging (and maybe discharging) current.

You can get a rough estimate of battery health based on all that. But "all of that" may or may not be available to 3rd party apps. A free battery app I tried said the charge current was 1300mA when it was almost 100% -- no way (see the link at the bottom for a ridiculously long post about that...)

Sorry jaleelhamid, this doesn't answer your question, but maybe asks the questions that will get you your answer!
FYI, generally, lithium batteries will degrade to 80% capacity after a year and then level out a bit. But eventually they'll die, which is why we love the replaceable battery!

As I was writing, Slamdunc1 posted the screen shots.
So looks like they get a lot of info (would be crazy to make it up).
Still would love a developer to post a link to the SDK that describes what actually is made available.
There are technical issues with trying to measure discharge current, so I would take that one with a grain of salt, but I would believe the rest of the data.
Try swapping batteries and make sure the ID changes!

The author peter9477 would be better at answering this, but as far as I've understood part of this info is provided by a documented API and part of it comes from some "less well known" PPS channels. The app "just" shows what is reported by the OS, which in turn gets its data from the power management chip (I guess the Qualcomm PM8921).

As a dev I can tell you where this app gets the Infos from, but have no idea how accurate they are.

It's a snapshot in time. If ur phone continues to use 1.8w then it will die in 3.5 hrs. Usually mine is less than half that or up to 1w

W stands for watts which is a unit of power. You lower it by not expending power. In standby the phone uses about 0.1w or less, which gives me ~178 hours until empty when full.

Battery guru is far and away the gold standard for battery apps available.
