If you put your Zeee 10 really close to your ear, rear facing, can you hear the buzzzzzing sound coming out of it? It's 4 days old if anyone wandered. It's in a flip case (one that replaces the back cover) and even still has protective foils on it (my lady's fetish, don't ask)

Do you have a Z10 or Z30? The Z10 Flip Case covers the back of the Z10, while the Z30 Flip Case does the replace the battery cover, as you mentioned.

No noise should be coming from the device at idle. Are you sure nothing was open? If you do turn the device volume down to nothing, is the buzzing still there?

If yes, I'd say exchange it as that's just odd.

It should be totally silent... I'd go for a replacement...

Mine seems absolutely quiet. I've got the bb flip case, so an additional layer on the back.

I heard people talk about a noise coming from the USB port before but not the back of the phone.

Is that when its charging? I can hear a faint hum when my devices (not just BlackBerry) are fully charged and still connected to the charger. Or im insane

I don't hear anything but there is clearly a difference between the feel of the Z and Q. With everything closed and one phone in each hand the Z10 feels different. It feels like a light buzz as if something is still on.

It is a Z10 and flip case is such you place it in place of the back cover. I've just listened to it again and its almost as if inside Z10 there is a super fast clicking gear wheel! However, then I turned the volume off completely - and the sound was gone briefly. I'm not sure if this calls for replacement as there's no way you can even hear the sound unles the back of the phone is really close to your ear and the phone itself warks like a charm... really strange.

Just done a battery pull on the Z10 and fast, very faint clicks are back. Told my lady to live with this for time being. It's not warm, it works smoothly and battery life is great.

Try performing a hard reset. (Not same as a Restart.)

Hold down both Volume Up & Down keys. After 10-15 seconds, a reboot will initiate.
Continue to hold down the Volume keys until you see the blue startup icon, then release.

    Anything better after that?

This hard reset is the BB10 equivalent of a battery pull with legacy BBOS devices.
You don't need battery pulls with BB10!

When I hold mine up to my ear I hear the ocean. When I put the front side to my ear I hear my wife yelling "WTF are you doing now and why don't you want to be with me?"
