So I have backed up my phone (full backup). I restored settings and media separately, but I don't want to restore the entire 870mb of application data. Is there a way to restore certain things individually, for example PW Keeper and browser bookmarks?

I have exactly the same problem. My "app settings" backup is over 3GB and i need to restore data from a single application only. Cannot open the. Tar file inside the backup. Are there any hacks to do this? BlackBerry Link allows to do all or nothing only. Please help.

Bookmarks are a part of app data, unfortunately

Address book and probably a few other things, are stored in settings. I think password keeper is one of them, but I don't remember

Not even to somehow open the backup file to extract single file item? I don't need it loaded to the phone, just need to access single file in application's directory. Any hacks to open up the backup file to see its contents???

I've tried a few things. The backups I've opened contain *.tar files, and when I've tried to open those I get nothing...no details at all. I suppose I could dig into them with a hex editor and see what I can find.

No dice. Hex editor didn't reveal anything either.

You can do that with Apple/itunes backup and restore individually apps, games.

BlackBerry link nor offer this yet, but the older DM allowed for this and allowed us to install contacts only and more.

I posted about this awhile ago, we need these options agaib.

Come on BlackBerry get er done.

You can restore some items selectively with Link. I had to reload my Calendar after but didn't restore.

Unless that selective Restore only works with legacy Backups. I haven't had to try otherwise...

This is how you CB10, son!
