Wow, that is one sexy/elegant looking phone right there. Bravo to the #BlackBerryTeam. It looks like it would pair well with a high-end/luxury super car. Now only if I owned a BB10 and a koenigsegg agera r =)

I don't think they can use carbon fiber, it blocks out radio signals.

Isn't the back of the 9900 carbon fiber?

No the back of the 9900/9930 is made of a glass composite allowing for the NFC antenna. The cell, wifi, and bluetooth antennas are inside the bottom bezel of the phone.

RIM always come through with amazing hardware, but tends to disappoint with sub-par software. i genuinely felt that the software was going to kill it, but critics would be disappointed with the hardware that was leaked earlier. This back cover is incredible.

I was comparing the grip and 'feel in the hand' of my 9930 with my wife's iPhone5, and i have to admit (maybe a bias?) but although the weight and the size of the iPhone is nice, the feel in the hand is just not as nice as my 9930. RIM definitely has a competitive advantage over any other phone manufacturer in this bc i definitely feel they always 'got' what it takes to build hardware that feels right in the hand and is actually tough as nails at the same time. Now with QNX, this may be the time that RIM can take it to the next level.

The glass composite is true for the back of the 9900 series for the nfc to be able to work, but the radio, wifi and blutooth and gps are spread across the backplate of the phone. The top right Is the mobile radio then the others expand down the left side (assuming you are looking at a backplate from the front) I've taken apart multiple 9900's lol.

good point. this shows that what we have seen leaked is only semi-final hardware (thank god!). i was/am hoping for that.

In order to support NFC it won't be aluminum. My guess is a form of carbon fibre. And yes it does look very sexy.
I thought NFC didn't work with carbon fiber either, that's why the back of the 9900/9930 isn't REAL carbon fiber, it just looks that way...
