I guess I don't understand all the fuss about specs. I never have felt my Z10 was slow, inadequate, etc. I frequently have 4+ tiles open at the same time while working my hub and the Z10 doesn't miss a beat and is over 2 years old. I think BB10 is a very efficient OS that does not require a lot of processor, RAM, etc. Not sure I would buy the Leap, but a bigger screen and better battery relative to the Z10 has appeal to some I suppose. The Z30 screen was garbage IMHO. I liked the Z10 screen much better despite being smaller.

Use passport. You will understand why there is a need of better processor.

For some people who only use the phone as...a phone, and some emails, the Snapdragon in the Z10 is probably already overkill.

When did the humble cell phone replace the laptop computer. Everyone is looking for more power, more battery life, bigger screen, more apps to have open at the same time.

It's just a cell phone, but yourselves a laptop and carry that around for a few days, then you will come to appreciate the cell phone, yes it's not perfect it will never be but it beats walking around with a quarter in your pocket looking for a pay phone.

The Leap's battery is bigger, but it's also not removable/replaceable. That's a deal breaker for me.

Only reason I'd switch is because of my terrible terrible battery. Tired of switching batteries every 5-6 hours or constantly looking to plug it in.

    Cheers

Have you taken a look at your system performance to figure out what the heck is killing off your battery life? I used to be one of those guys but once I figured out what was chewing up battery and got rid of it mine will give me 8-10 on heavy or go all day with medium.
Fixed the same for a few of my pals with the Z10.

I don't see any reason to buy leap. They haven't increased anything leaving the screen size.
Will anyone buy it over z10?
Than I would like to know what is the reason for buying.

Considering the Z10 has been out of production for a while, usually its mostly sell offs, or refurb that we see on the market so for new players the choice would be Leap vs Z30 and if you are a spec person then the Z30 if you just want a new fancy device then the Leap.

I doubt many Z10 users would consider anything other than Z30 or Passport for now.
As a Z10 user, I won't change until BBRY releases a new full touch device that really betters what I have now.
But I like what the Leap brings to the table.. as a communication device it is good.

I don't like the Passport, Leap, slider, or even the z30. I love my z10, I don't want a bigger phone, and I'm over the real keyboard. I am despairing - my z10 is either toast or just needs a new battery but if it dies looks like I'm heading for IPhoneLand.

Played with one at the Verizon store. Didn't care for the size, but deal breaker was the display. Not as sharp as my Z10.

What was the main killer for the battery? I've searched several several several times. CPU Battery etc. nothing really stands out like a sore thumb. Unless something is secretly chewing up the battery I have not located it. Ohhh there goes my battery saving mode kicking in once again on my Z10. Lol

Any help or light on this mater would be of great appreciation bud.

    Cheers.

In all these forums, most people liked their z10 with the exception of the battery life. I used to get criticised when I would correctly say that my z10 gets somewhat ok battery life.

Well now we effectively have a z10 with a terrible name but seemingly great battery life and everybody says it sucks. BlackBerry can't win, but they could drop the price of the Leap a bit.

    A couple of things:
Check your system idle should be avg 4.7% but will run between 3-10%
PIM should be low unless you are doing emails - idle - 3%
Android Apps are bad behaviors at times, worst Facebook (I found).
If PIM runs anything over idle- 3% when you are are idle then delete your email accounts and re-create.
But worst case is when you are not using the device and you feel that battery warm up, then grab a screen cap of the resources so we can see what is what is eating away at your battery life.

The battery is the knock out blow for the Leap.

The Leap will still be leaping while you're wall hugging with a Z10.

I was really looking forward for BlackBerry to create a powerhouse in a Z10 from factor. But since it is not, will stick to Z10 (and everybody in my family).
I'm clueless why BlackBerry did not want to develop further Z10 & Z30 lines.

Although I am using Z30 since last one year and before that Z10. Still, I prefer Z10 over Z30 but being in India, Z10 STL-1 is available which has serious battery & processor problem. If I would get STL-2,3,4, I would still prefer over Z30.

You've got a number of apps actively doing something currently in background
Your browser and FB just to start, if these apps are being used then you should close any active windows so we can see just what is running when it should not be to help.
