When i was having the 9xxx series of blackberry, i can always hide my *you know* videos in my SD card by renaming the whole file to something.sys instead of something.mp4. By doing so, your video will disappear from the main "Videos" folder and no one will know the existence of these videos. And when i needed to watch it, i just had to access my SD card through "Media/press menu/Explore" , then rename it back to .mp4 and it became watchable again.

I tried doing so in Z10. It doesn't work. When renamed, it will become something.sys.mp4. The video will still appear in your main Videos folder. Does anyone know how to successfully rename the extension, like the good ol days?

I don't have my Z10 yet but I believe your best bet would be to download a file manager app such as "Files and Folders" to change the extension.
PS: I also use this technique on my PB too haha

The Z10 does have a file manager. What sort of videos would you want to watch more than once? Family outings? Wedding albums?

You need to go in file manager, long press the video and go to properties. then press edit and you'll be able to rename the extension from there

Zipping doesn't seem to work. Once zipped videos are browsed again they go into the library.

Try to use third party application where you can hide files that should be hidden to others...

In BBWolrd, its called Hide Files.
Gives you the ability to hide any type of file behind a password, The file dissapears unti you put in the password, even when you connect the device to a PC

How about if the videos are moved to a non-video folder? That works on BBOS. Don't have my Z10 yet, so can't test!
