    You can set a time-out period and it will automatically lock and the period can be rather short.

    Not an app but there are cases and holsters that take advantage of the magnetic sleep mode activation. I use the Seidio surface case and the active case in combination with the appropriate holsters. Place the phone in the holster and it goes to sleep. Pull it out of the holster and it automatically wakes. Never have to use the sleep/wake button. Like I said, not an app but it works great for me.

    OEM Bberry leather magnetic "holster" is excellent. Been using with mine since phone intro'd in USA. Amazon has them, etc.
