- Yes I went through them... Still the same. Will just have to wait it out
The last time I updated back home, it was 10.1.0.273 and faced hell with it, the notification issue... I went to the BB Support Forum, contact/visited the local dealer and even called BlackBerry tech support. All I got was a simple "Sorry".
This time its the battery... It seems that one needs money AND luck to use a BlackBerry 10 phone.
How were you able to do all of this between posting the thread and testing everything?09-17-13 07:43 AMLike 0 - Or any phone for that matter. S**t happens with any device/car/computer thing. How were you able to do the battery calibration so quickly though? It took me 4 hours to drain it entirely and then charged it 16 hours...then just used it normally.

As soon as I finished wiping out the phone, the battery was already at 12%. I recharged it to 100%, and now only 2 hours I guess, its already down to 85%. I didn't use the phone at all and its clean, no new apps installed. I'm pretty sure that's not related to battery calibration. Like Gambit said, something must've gone wrong during the update process.09-17-13 07:54 AMLike 0 - I agree **** happens with such gadgets or devices. But honestly I haven't had any such issues with my previous phones.

This is known as a State-of-Charge mismatch and is sorted by a Battery Calibration. That is why I suggested it to you...honestly, if your battery is f****d then this isn't going to change it. If it IS the SoC mismatch, then this can help sort it out.
You have nothing to lose here, really...09-17-13 08:09 AMLike 0 - Actually just double checked mine and it was IMAP, not POP. Do you get alot of emails? or is your data connection slow? (Think you mentioned it is) If so you might want to increase the sync time even more. I found I still get all e-mails almost instantly even when sync is set to 24 hours. Sync just makes sure the server version of your inbox and your phone version matches. (So if you delete on the phone, it deletes from your server box)09-17-13 08:35 AMLike 0
- Perhaps...though if you read through my posts on the BB Support Forums, you will see that I stated that my battery seemed to discharge very quickly but then I noticed that it ran for hours at 0%.

Yes the internet is quite slow here. Edge on 2G.
I really don't know about this but whenever I delete emails on my phone, they're never deleted on the server and I can still see them in my Gmail or Yahoo.
I'll set it to 24 hours now and see what happens.
I installed it, as I opened it... I saw only 2 services or apps running. One was the task manager itself and the other one was com.android.calendar.provider or something similar. I killed it but no ram was freed doing so.Last edited by Mohammed Mostafa; 09-18-13 at 06:54 AM. Reason: Correction
09-17-13 09:41 AMLike 0 - Ok guys... Here's what happened. Yesterday I recharged my battery and within 7 hours it drained totally. I recharged again at night before going to bed and just left the phone idle the whole night in bed side mode, just to wake up in the morning and find out that my phone is turned off due to battery completely draining out.
I haven't installed any new apps.
2 emails accounts are setup with sync set to 24 hours
no social media account is setup except Facebook
No active frames were running
Phone was connected to Wifi only, data services was turned off
Brightness is at the lowest
Network set to 2G
No vibrations, only sound and LED notifications
In the morning to took it to the local store and after a little search, I found a store selling Z10 batteries. I asked the attendant for a new battery, and the gentleman was quite experienced and offered a little help. I explained the reason for which I was buying a new battery and he said if its a software issue, buying a new battery won't solve it. He gave me his Z10 (STL100-1) battery and asked me to check on the battery performance. It was at 90% when I inserted it into my phone and within 2 hours it came down to 70%... I didn't even use the phone during this period of time. He called in the technician, who came and check my battery with some kind of metering device and said my battery was in perfect condition. They both said I need to get off this firmware or just cope with it until the new firmware is released.
I asked them to install the 10.2 I had in my Macbook (because the 10.2 needs to be run from a Windows PC), but they strongly disagreed to do so. Well it voids the warranty of the phone. Anyways, the conclusion is... No fix for it.
Thank you all for offering your help and time to reply. Appreciated!09-19-13 04:00 AMLike 0 - I agree **** happens with such gadgets or devices. But honestly I haven't had any such issues with my previous phones.

When I purchased this phone, the battery life was pretty good and I almost used to get through 24 to 28 hours with one recharge. And that used to be on 3G with 4 email accounts and 3 social networking accounts.
I hope you understand what I mean. Some may think I'm overreacting, but seriously my work requires me to stay connected almost 20 hours a day and I work with deadlines. Its very frustrating.
Posted via CB1009-19-13 08:20 AMLike 0 - Maybe you're right, but imo it's abnormal for a phone to discharge that amount of battery while the phone is not in use. And let's not forget the network, it's just 2G.

Z10STL100-2/10.1.0.4780 O2 Uk09-19-13 12:24 PMLike 0 - Glad to read that... I'll try to install the 10.2.0.1521 I have as soon as I get access to a windows machine.
Posted via CB1009-22-13 09:36 AMLike 0 - Are you using STL100-1?
I read on the Internet that 1521 is more stable than the other.... but who knows, let me try 1521, if it doesn't work well, I'll install the other one.

I'm on 1743 and haven't updated yet to 1761 since I only put 1743 on two days ago.
Both work on STL100-1. Though, you might already have 1521 on by now.09-26-13 12:51 AMLike 0 -
