No un-ordinary behaviour what-so-ever leading up to this, but all of the sudden my Z10 just won't turn back on. I used it this morning for text messaging and emails and browsing and everything, then all the sudden it wouldn't turn back on. I tried battery pull, plugging it in to charge, and still nothing! I left it plugged into a rapid charger for about an hour and it's still cold as ice, won't turn back on

Anyone have some sort of magic fix for this? Anything I could try? I mean, I wanted to get a Z30 but I was hoping to wait a little while longer! This is just ridiculous

Hold the volume up and down buttons for thirty seconds until you see the blue loading icon.

    ...

See if link connects to it, and try to reload your OS.. hopefully it's not a hardware problem.

Leave the battery out of the BlackBerry smartphone for at least an hour.

Is the LED blinking red in a pattern?

Try bringing it back to life by reloading the OS with link or blackberry.com/udates.

If those 2 ways don't work then your device is dead and has malfunctioned. Happened to my Z10 and my Z30.

    Good luck!

Just tried to put the battery bck In and still nothing. No LED, no screen of any kind. I did notice the device started getting warm at the top near the battery contacts... but no other signs of life

Try BlackBerry Link to restore OS and BlackBerry.com/updates.

Take it to your carrier's service center. It should still be covered under warranty. This is why I keep a backup phone, but it would sure bug me if that happened (gently caresses the preciousssss...)

Thankfully my backup is only a few days old, and pictures are stored on the SD card... so I'm not worried about my data at all.

When I plugged it into my laptop it didn't seem to pick up anything, so that's a no go at the moment.

Unfortunately I bought this from a BB employee and have no purchase receipt. It's probably under factory warranty so I'll try contacting BBRY support, but other than that I'm not sure what I'll do.

As I said, I had originally wanted to get a Z30 when I saw them come out. Was going to sell the 10 to make up a bit of the cost... it's not much use now... maybe $80 for the parts that work.

Not happy right now... I'm on a backup S3 with a shattered screen right now.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried a different cable to charge? Possibly a different battery.

Maybe hit a carrier that might, at least, lend you a battery to see if it just might be a dead battery - or friend?

If you plug it in with NO battery, any lights?

Sure the adapter, socket are working?

Please keep us updated as to what happens!

I really don't know if I can be of any help. If a battery pull doesn't work, and BlackBerry Link was unsuccessful...

Can you contact the BlackBerry employee from whom you bought your Z10? Can you ask if this has ever happened to him or her before? I agree with the user above: go to your carrier and see if they can at least slap another battery in there to see if the battery is the problem. My BlackBerry 9780's battery was awful towards the end -It would die at 60 % - so it was not a software problem, but a battery one.

Also, try sending a direct message to @BlackBerryHelp on Twitter. I've used them in the past and they've helped me a lot! Their response times are usually prompt - usually a few hours, and they always follow up with you, to make sure that they answered your question.

    Don't give up!

Try a new battery. Sounds like the battery may have shorted somehow.

I will try another battery today. I'm trying to get BlackBerry Link to do a factory restore on the phone, but it's stuck on "Reset your device". Going to assume that it's not going to work. When I take out the battery and have it plugged in there is also no activity..

I have no contact info for the employee I bought the device from. He bought up a bunch of them for employee purchase before he left (He was a co-op student) and then sold them off.

So I decided to call in my upgrade with Rogers. Z30 is ordered and should be sent out tomorrow.

As for the Z10, I left it with a local cell phone repair shop. They're going to call me back in a couple of days and let me know if the phone is worth repairing.

Yea I was running that leak on my Z10 before it decided to die... actually had just installed it the day before :/ In any case.... I'll -survive- with this RAZR I borrowed from my brother in law. the S3 I was on has a busted screen and I've only got it to do a repair, lol...

I'll post here once the Z30 is received. Can't wait to be back on BB10.

Got a call from the cell repair shop. My Z10's main board is fried for some reason. Not exactly sure how that could have happened, but it's not worth repairing.

So I have two choices: I can attempt to get a manufacturer warranty through BBRY, or I can sell it for parts. lol..

Regardless, Z30 is on the way. Should be delivered before friday

It was a backup until I got the 30. I've since borrowed my brother-in-law's old Motorola RAZR HD. Battery is screwed up but at least I can see the damn screen, lol
