    Dear Crackberry community,

Have i just thrown away 33 GBP on a 64GB Micro SD XC Card?
    Is it not compatible?

My Z10 doesn't seem to read it.

    Thanks

No, you just need to format the card. If it's the same one I got (the happy little Android on the cover?), then it's in SETTINGS, the STORAGE AND ACCESS and scroll down and you should see an option to format the media card.

Mine works fine. Had to reformat it first. Settings > storage and access. The first time I inserted it, nothing happened, but I reinserted it and got a message about it being unreadable and needing to be formatted.

I have had only frustrations with the mini-SD Cards in 64 GB. There seems to be two "similar" models with SanDisk and one has a clear warning: Reformat into file system other than exFAT may cause instability
Only compatible with SDXC enabled device in exFAT format per SD Standard.
The trouble is that Blackberry does not seem to recognize the exFAT Format.
I am using one on my Samsung Galaxy Tab-3 without any troubles.
Nevertheless, for my Q10, I decided not to run the risk and purchased a Kingston 64GB that worked well for a while, (after I had to reformat it first), but then, after a few weeks it stopped working at all.
No matter what I tried to reformat, etc, it was useless. I have sent it back to Kingston to be replaced (since they say that it is covered by a full-time warranty) and I am still waiting to receive the new one. If I don't hear from them this next week, I will try one made by Transcend and see how it will go.
I lost the time that it took me too upload some 7600 songs + the images and videos. Luckily, I had a back-up, so all that I lost was the time.
It is very unfortunate that Blackberry does not recognize the exFAT Format. I simply love the sound reproduction of my Q10 and I am simply waiting patiently to be able to try and test the Z30 for my music.

I've had no problems with that card whatsoever. Didn't have to format either just popped it in and it worked flawlessly.

After i successfully formated it the first time i tried to also do it again on my phone since my phone recognized the card.

Seemed to be a big mistake and took me back tosquare one but now my files are transfering and hopefully everything will be ok.

Thanks again for all your help guys.

    Thanks a lot LoGevster...

I have been having this issue all day with my STL100-3 and STA100-3. The FAT32formater gave me the same errors but with the GUIformat software, I can confirm that this program worked like a charm on my SanDisk Ultra 64GB sdxc.

Please be advised that if you try and format the card on your phone afterwards it will mess it up by tryin to find the media driver for exFAT. You will have to reformat the SD Card on windows with the software again.

An additional thanks goes out to JimPilot for pointing me to this thread.

So bottom line, folks who have been using the 64gig card for MONTHS are having no problems or recurring problems? Not just a week or two, but long term success? Thanks in advance.
