4 hours battery life
Except few bugs I felt in love with z10. But one thing is unacceptable - battery life. When I don't touch BlackBerry, it works in standby 10 hours. But when I use it, four hours is all, what I can get. I'm in full 3g range, WiFi turned on.
Is it normal? Maybe it is something wrong with my battery?

If you are connected to wifi and not simply searching, it actually tends to save battery life to leave it switched on.

I'm close to my router. It's 100% power of signal. Anyway, even with WiFi off, it is the same. How long your z10 works when you usterki it?

What version are you using? I happen to receive the phone before sim card arrived so I turned on wifi without sim for 1st week. The battery goes down to 70-80% range in one day. I was surprised. But after i received the activated sim. Battery drained and it was having problem to last a full 24 hrs. Adjusted the screen to dimmest didn't seem to help even I didn't have my network turned on (just to test)
Last week I updated to newest version available and I turned on both network and wifi with moderate usage. Battery back to 60-70% range again. 9790 was my previous phone so I get to compare the battery life of 2 phones. I find it better than my 9790.
Note: I receive and send email from 50-100 a day + BBM msg but rarely using phone. Browse Internet for 30-60min a day. And I adjusted the contrast to the lowest possible, no bt and nfc. Turn on airplane mode during bed time and all that applied to 9790 as well.

Something is wrong... I get at least double if not triple that with continuous use...same variables. Suggest getting a replacement battery or replace the unit.
I did notice once that my Z10 ran the battery low very quickly once when it could not connect to my mail. It seemed to get into an endless loop, got very warm, etc.

10.0.9.2372.
You mean 60-70% per day?
There must be something wrong with my device or battery in this case.

Yes. 60-70 in 16-24hrs range. I charged my phone at work and don't charge it at home . So I go to work from 8-4:30, I have it charged up before I finish work. Then I never charge it until next day of work. Not necessary beginning of work so I said 16 24 hrs range. Sorry for not getting this clear in my 1st post. I also edited something in my 1st post.
Is it the newest version possible? My version is 10.0.10.xxx. (earlier version of 10.0.10 drained my battery too) see if you can get the newest version available on your end. I'm not allowed to share my real version due to some reason. My apology.

If you only have 3g can you change the setting somewhere for that? If it's searching for 4g or LTE wouldn't that cause massive drain?

Omg make sure to do a full charge 3 times once from 10% and twice from 20%.
Then see if it last longer.
By the way if your gaming in it or have any open frames, programs make sure your not doing so and no streaming videos or music.
This is just for the three charge cycles and use phone regularly.

When using my BlackBerry moderately through the day on LTE, it last almost exactly 12 hours.

I turned off LTE, and disabled all media sharing and wifi sharing. It helped a lot.

Give it about a week of use before the battery starts to come around. For whatever reason, a new battery on the Z's gets better over time.

depending on usage I get 16-32 hours on one charge.
Tried killing it last night and the best I could get it to before i had to go to bed was 15%
It is true that the battery gets better from new, but 4 hours of moderate use sounds faulty.
If you are constantly streaming video over LTE 4 hours could be right. - 02-24-2013, 09:14 AM #22

First couple days was terrible. Now my battery life is awesome (one week in). I have bluetooth on, wifi on, set to HSPA+/UMTS/GSM, nfc off. significant usage (browsing, messaging, streaming, hotspot). Yesterday I unplugged at 7:15 am, plugged back in at 1:15am, with 28% remaining!!! - 02-24-2013, 09:27 AM #23
I get 12-14 hrs moderate usage and 16-19 hrs light usage, depends on what I am doing and what's turned on or off.
