I keep getting the error message "www.bberror.com/bb10-0016". I wasn't able to open any apps so I tried to restart my phone then I got this message. I keep reading that I have to reset it to factory settings but I don't have anything backed up (I know, very stupid) so I am hoping there is a solution that will allow me to keep all of my data. I really hope someone can help me!

Your data is gone! Reload an OS. It should fix it.

Thank you! But I am confused as to how you got something to download because I can't get the phone to turn on.. Also, will this wipe all the data off the phone??

Download an OS for your phone, from the above link. Just double click the .exe file and connect your phone via USB cable. Rest is done automatically.
And yeah all the data will be wiped off!

I appreciate that thought but unfortunately I do not have it backed up. I know, a completely stupid move on my part. I just don't understand why nothing can be retrieved in this day and age of amazing technology… I am quite distraught at the moment.

Will BlackBerry Protect help restore anything? Or is that only for BB7 to BB10?

Unfortunately, Blackberry Protect won't work. The phone is corrupt so I am going to have to reboot it. Thank you for the idea though.

I am aware you are needing to wipe and reinstall the OS. What I was meaning was that once the new OS is installed, connect to your BBID and see if your BlackBerry Protect has any backup info in there that you can restore.

Let me know if you need more info on what I am referring to or the process needed. Not sure if it will work but it is worth a try.

I'm sorry, I misunderstood. Thank you for your suggestion. I will try that when (or if) it's back up and running again.

Install the OS using an autoloader!
