Default Verizon 9930 and 2G speeds?

I was told you can unlock the verizon 9930 well its already unlocked by factory. However if you go to europe and use their connection it'll be a 2G? This worries me as 3G is old for us and 4G is new. Is this true that my 9930 will be roaming on the international sim-card carrier on slow speeds or does it depend on my carrier network connection? I assume it's 3G but I was told it's 2G if it exits Verizon's Bound?

    Thanks guys!!!

2G in North America only. You should pick up 3G dependent on the carrier in Europe.

Do you know also why it isn't 4G?

Sounds good if it's 3G international. Just strange how it's Edge/2G if not Verizon domestically in the US.

Also is it already unlocked by Verizon or do I have to unlock it myself?

It wouldn't pick up 3G or 4G overseas. Just 2G/Edge. Blackberrys are not 4G devices. The 3G on there now is on a frequency the CDMA radio picks up off of Verizon's network.
