I would switch it to 2G from the UMTS/3G if you have that option and that should clear up all your errors.

Forcing it to 2G does help, it's just annoying is all and i unbranding clears up the error, well, that would make me think hard about doing such.

As an update, I went and tried a new series SIM card and had the same error.

Referring to the below:
On my 9550 everything is disabled except for Network it says Inactive?

does that means my phone is unlocked?

I got an error when I first tried to unlock. Invalid code, I am sure I made a typo. Readded and it was accepted. I then searched for a post by Garz on how to make sure it was indeed unlocked. It may help some people to add this to your post. Took me a few minutes to find with all the threads on unlocking lately.

From member Garz: (thanks by the way)

Yes there is a way to see if its unlocked... Do this:

1. Options

2. Advanced Options

3. Sim Card

4. Hold Cap locks and type MEPD

Under network, it will say disabled if unlocked or active if locked.

Yes it does. Inactive or disabled next to 'Network' is the same thing. Both mean that your network lock is either disabled or inactive, and your phone is unlocked

I have a Rogers unlocked blackberry. Would I gain any additional benefits by unbranding it?

Not really, Blackberry are not like Nokias example where on Rogers you can only put you ringtones you buy from them unlike if you unbrand it.

All features will stay the same, will just change the splash screen you get when it powers up

do some of your own research and you might find it, though it gets taken down from every site that its hosted on

the software is pirated which is why we cant tell you what it is

No, debranding/rebranding only takes care of the logos/splash screens.

I see. I was hoping it would clear out all of the old carrier data and replace it with the one you wanted. almost like getting it from the factory.

Hi,
I've been reading through the 20 pages on this thread and I found it pretty interesting, thanks Tronyx for the info!
I own a Curve 8520 and have been searching for a while on the net for a method of unbranding but I haven't found any info on this subject.
Could you please give me a hand and tell me if it is possible to do this on my device? If it is, I would really aprecciate if someone could send me the instructions and the software that is used for the process by PM or E-Mail

Thanks in advance!
