Unlocking sprint blackberry to use on boost mobile
is it possible to unlock a sprint blackberry so that when you call to activate it with boost mobile they will not see that it is a sprint blackberry and it can be activated ?

Since Boost sells the 8330 now, they will not allow one to use an 8330 from another carrier.

No. Most CDMA carriers do not allow devices that are branded by other carriers to be added. VZW would not allow a Sprint device to be used, nor would Sprint allow a VZW device to be used.
If you do not want to buy a Boost branded 8330 new, you could look for one on eBay or Craigslist.--Laura Knotek (formerly known as lak611)

First off Sprint is not a different carrier. Boost CDMA is owned by Sprint and uses the exact same network. Boost has never allowed Sprint phones on their network, but it is possible to get them on anyway. To this day there are still people posting about just getting their Sprint 8330 or 9630 onto Boost. Check out this forum for everything you need to get a Sprint phone on Boost.

so i looked at the forums and tried the "pull a fast one" and after calling several times they told me that calling several times will not change anything. what was interesting is that every time i tried they now put you through to a blackberry specialist that are trained in identifying the sprint blackberries. so im willing to try anything else, any other ideas. post or message me please.

the moment boost enter's the meid or esn into their network it will automaticly be identified as a sprint branded blackberry and not allow it to be activated.. the thing about pre-paid carriers like boost (although sprint/nextel's network) or metro pcs is they want you to buy the phone. real cell phone carriers lock you in a contract because they can give you a new phone and you don't have to pay for it. just go in CB market place and try and trade someone bb's or sell it on craigs list i sold my 8330 on craigslist for $155, a hundread bucks more and you'd have a new 8330 on boost's network... you'll be able to make that extra $100 up in like 3 months with boost's cheaper service compared to sprints.

Are you following the procedure on howardforums? Opening an account with one of the official Boost phones then switching it for the Sprint phone?
Somebody on howardforums was charging $50 or something and getting people's sprint phones activated. I don't know if he's on the inside, just knows somebody or has a system but I saw a few posters that said what he did worked for them. Look through the support threads and you can find him. - 06-07-2012, 01:56 PM #12
Well i see, everyone tries calling boost mobile to add there device into there account. did anyone think of doing it on there own trough Prepaid Cell Phones | No Contract Cell Phones | Boost Mobile, just choose my account and if you plan o add another IMEI or ESN you should be able to do it trough there and avoid the annoying sorry we apologize were unable to do is company policy unfortunately those people working there don't know much about the job there doing and they have some crapy training if you need help. I'm sure i could help sense i developed the process for the blackberry to connect under the boost mobile network but i quit do to the fact they were not providing all the services they should with these smart phones. sorry guys for the reality of things I hope you guys have a better chance adding it trough the web site

Well you guys that are trying to add a sprint blackberry into the boost mobile CDMA network make sure to go to the web site at www . boostmobile . com and then select my account input your PTN and then your PIN and you will find tabs in there one that should say add new device and bingo my friend its easy. however i will say this there is certain ESN, IMEI, MSID numbers that have been blocked but if yours is one that has not been blocked then most likely your sprint will be under the boost mobile network however certain apps and services will not work and you will probably end up calling back mad and pissed off at the service anyways, well good luck and I hope the info helps get you guys over these dummy
customer service agents lol they have crappy training anyways they dont know much about what there doing sorry for the true reality of things
