Unlocking Frequencies
Will it be possible to unlock certain frequencies on the 9700? For example, if I bought the phone for Rogers, but I wanted to use it on a T-Mobile Frequency (Wind Mobile), will it be possible through some sort of hack?
Is it hardware specific, or is it just locked in the firmware. If needed, I have some friends at RIM that could help me out if it's not possible for the average joe.

Hacking the Blackberry is not easy at all. You can adjust the OS a little but there are things that are not changed without bricking the device. Yes there are people who will claim they can but Blackberry would not be a secure device if it could be done with ease.

Usually the freq's are hardware locked so you probably wont be able to get a Rogers 9700 to work on other networks unless they use the same freq's that Rogers uses.

You can with unlocking them but being able to use a 3G one on a 3G network doesn't usually match up
