do you have an 8330 or an 8310? it says you have at&t but it also says you have an 8330, which are incompatible. you can only unlock gsm devices, which an 8330 is not.

ok, so its not gonna be an 8330.. you just need to purchase an unlock code from a place like HorizonWirelessOnline.com - Horizon Wireless, The World’s Cellular Repair Center ß . there are a bunch of companies that do that sort of thing.

In your situation you're probably gonna have to buy an unlock code, otherwise get your friend to call T-mobile and say he needs the unlock code so he can use his phone overseas. You may get lucky and they'll give you the code.
