Unlocked BB?
So I've been reading a lot of rave around unlocking the bb and using it through other svc providers. So my honest question is, would you crackberrians out there seriously recommend this AND could I use an unlocked bb on the verizon network?

Not an 8900. It is a GSM only device that will not work on a CDMA network.

Unlocking your device is good if you want to change carriers (GSM only carriers - T-Mobile and AT&T in the USA)... or if you want to travel overseas, since most of the networks overseas are GSM carriers... but not for use on a CDMA carrier like Verizon or Sprint.

The 9700 is available in Canada on CDMA, Bell and Telus networks
A compromise is an agreement whereby both parties get what neither of them wanted.

LOL... A 9700 from T-Moble will barely work on AT&T, by barely I mean only on 2G/EDGE and not on 3G. They each have different 3G frequencies.
Buy a device from the provider you are going to. If you want a BB for Verizon get a Tour.

Unlocking is great, but yeah you can't unlock GSM to use on CDMA carriers.
