You can use any SIM card, it could be from another carrier and doesn't need to be active.

after i enter mepd the menu comes up but when i enter mep2 nothing happens. what should i do?

Type mepd in the sim card menu and tell us what is says beside network.

next to mobile network it says none. I dont think its unlocked cause when I put an AT&T sim card in the phone it didn't work

Make sure you have a sim inserted and you change the unit to 2G/GSM in mobile network options under manage connections.

Hi Can somebody assist me. i had a blackberry bold 9650. but its not unlock it still locked by verizon. i dont know how to unlock it. im here in the middle east ryt now working and ive tried to buy unlock codes but my credit card wont allow me to purchase 1. i dont have a paypall account also.
