| |  Problems unlocking a Tour
I'm trying t unlock a tour for a friend and I have a problem. when I type mepd nothing happens. I have tried typing mepd, mep alt 2, alt mep2 and a whole bunch of other ways, but the box to enter the mep code does not pop up. I have dont it successfully one every other blackberry I have tried, and now I am starting to wonder if the phone is hardlocked. Can someone shed some light or tell me who to pay to get this fixed?

Do you have a sim card placed in the device??
what does it say beside network when you type mepd?
Battery pull?

Also, on some OS versions on the Tour, you have to hold down the SHIFT key while typing MEPD in order get the screen to come up.

Battery pull? | Yup, sim card in place. I go into advanced options/sim card and see nothing but a blank screen with "sim card not valid" on top.

Ok, typing Shift mepd got me to a menu listing with
Sim
Network
Network subset
Service Provider
Corperate
on other phones I never have had to type mepd to get this to show up. Now I am trying to get the pop up to enter the mep number and nothing no matter what I type.
