Default Got It!!!

I just got mine unlocked!!!

I called 1-800-922-0204 and stated that I wanted to unlock my Storm. She didn't quite get what I was asking. When she did understand me she put me on hold for about 1 1/2 minutes and came back with someone from global support. The lady from GS emailed me the T and C's asked me if I agreed and of course I said yes.

I then confirmed that the unlocking would not affect my current service with Verizon the GS lady asked me why I wanted to unlock the phone I told her I was going to travel aboard. She said ok it wouldn't affect my service and went on to say that some people just want their phones unlocked because someone tells them to do it. I laughed it off with her and proceeded to unlock the phone.

Piece of cake!!!!

BTW, the codes are phone specific!!!

The unlocking everyone is discussing here has to do only with the SIM card, ergo only with GSM service. Sprint is a CDMA provider, so removing the SIM lock has nothing to do with Sprint.

Now, CDMA handsets are also typically locked to their providers, but you never really hear about unlocking them. There was some talk about Sprint losing or settling a class action lawsuit a year ago and as a result unlocking its phones for use on VZW's network by reqest, but I don't know what's come of all that.
