Hardlocked Blackberry with blocked counter CAN be unlocked

As all of you know, and most impatient ones even experienced it, Blackberry gives 10 attempts to enter the MEP code. After 10 attempts are exhausted the phone starts displaying message MEP code (0 left).
Up until recent days there was no cure for this, the phone would stay permanently locked to the network even if correct code is obtained later.

Such Blackberry phones can be unlocked. You can finally turn your "paperweight" into a fully functioning phone again.

Supported Blackberry versions:
8100 Pearl, 8220 Pearl Flip, 8300 Curve, 8310 Curve, 8320 Curve, 8520 Curve, 9000 Bold, 9700 Bold, 8110 Pearl, 8120 Pearl, 8310r Curve, 9100 Pearl 3G, Hard locked 9105 Pearl 3g, Hard locked 9500 Storm, Hard locked 9550 Storm 2, Hard locked 9650 Tour, Hard locked 9700 Bold, etc

Hi Alru,

Please advise how can I get my BB9700 unlocked in Mumbai India. I have exhausted all 10 MEP chances and its an AT&T lock from US.

You need to find a shop that does cable unlocking.

Great post. This is an issue that needed to be addressed. Very glad people can get a second chance at unlocking their phone.

We can unlock it but need to have the phone sent to us.

You have to take it to a shop that does cable unlocking or send it to an unlocker who does cable unlocking.

The unlocker needs physical possession of the device to connect it using the hardware and software he uses to unlock it.

This is a lesson when entering your unlock code. Make sure you get your code from a reliable source and please do not attempt to enter the unlock code more than 2 times. If there is an issue, contact the company that you recieve the code from.

The problem also is that some sites will send you 10 possible codes for your phone. A reliable unlocker will send you 1 or 2 at most.

unlike you the case i had was for the unlocking of my bb 8520 curve, the unlocker enter all 10 wrong codes at a stretch u know. then i had the phone permanently locked to the vodafone network...was quite a new phone though, lol
have been lookin for whom to sell it to or any reliable means of hardware unlockin.

Some unlocking services send more than 2 codes at one time for the same time, which can cause a problem .. Unlocking by MEP name is the most efficient way to unlock your phone which will output one code.

Only way to unlock an 8520 with a counter 0 is DM3 Unlocking.
