Can you lock an unlocked phone?
My Curve is pretty new but I want to use it in China. So I want it unlocked, but when I get home I want to lock it again for warranty purposes.
Has anyone done this before? - 01-30-2009, 04:13 PM

Thank you everyone for your response. I think I will go with what the Rogers authorized dealers say.
So once the warranty is up after a 1 yr it does not matter if it is unlocked or not for repair purposes? - 01-31-2009, 10:03 PM #13

So I am also looking to unlock my bold, for when I travel. I just got my phone a month ago and would not want to void the 1 year warranty that comes with the phone. So will I be safe unlocking my bold and not void anything? I am currently on Rogers in Canada. I just really dont wanna be refused my 1 year warranty. Also what can be don with the IMEI number, am I sagfe to just give it out?

I was told by a rogers tech dept guy that I can unlock it and as long as the problem doesn't happen because of the "unlocking" that my warrenty is still good!
