can you put a 3 sim card into a blackberry 8900

i unlocked my phone and went through the steps of unlocking it and it says it is unlocked because it says disabled when i go on the advanced options and then sim card but it says i have no signal it is on sos, is this because i can not put my 3 sim card in it or it is not unblocked properly?

As long as it says disabled beside network and service provider then it is unlocked. 3 UK may have different frequencies than your 8900.

If your 3 Network only operates on 3G or a different frequency it won't work because the 8900 is not a 3G compatible phone.
