Default Anyone had problems with a BlackBerry device after unlocking?

Just unlocked a Bold 9700 that was on O2, the code worked fine, was able to put another network simcard in the device but now it doesn't work. It doesn't make or receive calls, receive email or go on the internet.

Anyone know why this would be the case?

Needs to be registered with the new network and get service books. May need manual install of service books if the new network does not sell the same device.

Ok but even without service books shouldn't the phone still be able to make and receive calls?

Got this resolved. Turns out the handset was barred. Guy is going to give back the BlackBerry to whoever he bought it off.

Means carrier has blocked it from its network.

A little late but thanks. My friend figured that out after calling the network. He's going to get his money back for the BlackBerry.

So the issue was solved for the best, happy to hear that.
Unlocking a blackberry device is easy but it's worth to buy a blackberry device from a legit seller that won't sell you some stolen blackberry.
