What does it mean when it says hidden today screen or clear today screen?

For example, I'm looking at the theme here

What is the difference between the Clear and Hidden Today for the Foppa 14 theme?

Hidden today is when you scroll over ex(your SMS folder) without clicking and on the wallpaper above the messages you have are shown and you can click them from there.
Clear means it doesn't have this feature.
My advice: download both, see which you prefer, delete the other.
Can't go wrong with a Foppa theme!
