I just got a email stating that a new software update is ready for my phone... Does anyone know what this means? See below for more info

I also have the tour but i am not home to find out what it means....maybe a new OS update is being release by RIM? Wishfull thinking I guess...LOL

Hmm... nothing under "Wireless Update" for me, and no such email.

Can anyone else weigh in? I'm gonna go check out the VZW website, maybe they have more info somewhere.

I know a few people at work got the same email from updates.blackberry.com so I know something is up. Maybe it will be available soon via sprint or verizon's website?

Tour has always had embedded MMS.




Sounds like an "OOPS!" email to me. That email literally listed all of the features of OS v4.5

Nothing new on the BB website, or the VZW website. If you go to the Verizon site and download the OS, it's still .140 listed. Maybe they just haven't updated it yet?

About this email, it doesn't specifically say anything about the Tour, but it DOES mention the Pearl, and several versions of the Curve. Could this be an erroneous email? It DOES say something about "if you have changed devices..."

Did you guys who received the email previously own one of the phones mentioned in the email?

My first question is do you all have a blackberry tour? I want to first know if this notice was just sent out to only users who have a blackberry tour or did other devices also get the same email message?

Go to options>advanced options>wireless update at the bottom. That is the OTA download procedure.

Weird...It's supposed to support embedded MMS right out of the box. If your Tour didn't, thats not normal.

Are you sure your phone isn't just an iToy, disguised as a Tour?

Hmm... that MAY be due to a missing vendor file, I believe. Have you modified the OS on your phone at all?
