No. I remember reading somewhere only trackpad devices will get it.

I want to get excited about OS 6... but so far I'm not impressed.

That said; the compatibility of devices and software is one of the biggest issues RIM has going and developers have got to be going bonkers.

RIM can't even get OS 5 right. I would expect, given RIM's track record, OS 6 will leave another trail of blunders on whatever device it ends up on.

The only current devices getting 6 will be the Odin & Onyx. I really hope there'd be hybrids for the Tour from 9650's webkit.

    +1
I'm sure OS6 will be underwhelming - all the more reason to start looking at Android.

I would expect no, not because of technology and compatibility differences, but simply because RIM is proving itself to be very similar to Apple in this regard. If they can force you to buy a new product, they'll do what they can to do it. It's smart business (for them).

Na i think the Tour will end up getting OS 6. My guess is
the curve 8500s will get it, and if OS 6 tests well on the Tour's
memory capability then i think it's a go.

Plus, RIM would certainly be more confident going into the future
with Tour owners not totally pissed at them. The Tour was a really
popular device, and my guess is most Tour owners wouldn't buy another
blackberry if they could upgrade next week.

I personally believe the Tour could run OS 6 pretty well. if there were
curve 8300s that could run OS 5, the there's a good chance the Tour could
    run 6 smoothly.

I think it's a memory problem. That's what the big deal for the Essex is in my opinion. RIM wouldn't remake a device only for the trackpad. Plus they said that it's "BB6 compatible."

Do yourself a favor and get a Droid of the iPhone! The BB is so far behind in stability, features, enjoyment, etc ... it IS a great emailing device, but stop waiting for stability, enhancements, and the ability to have a speedy phone and get out of the BB market all together and go with something else - the grass IS greener on the other side!

I have both the tour and an android(hero to be exact). I will never totally leave bb for android until android has a better messaging system. You just can't compete with bb in that department. But realistically I'm not mad about not getting 6os because old phones can't get that new of os all the time. For instance my gf is rocking a curve with 4.7. With new os comes new phones. So I will get a new bb once os6 is out but until then I am fine with my tour and 5.0.
