Default Why upgrade from the curve to the tour?

If you dont plan to use the phone outside of the country, what would be some compelling reasons to upgrade from the curve to the tour?

What's different about the OS?

I played with the keyboard today and I cant say it's better than the curve. I prefer the space between buttons like on the curve.

i made the switch from the curve today and very happy i did... everythings faster... the screen resolution on boy thats a huge one the same movies I had on my curve 8gb card just transfered over to the tour wow clarity... not to mention the camera 3.2mp... the processor for loading movies, songs, browser, applications, and memory just makes the phone so much more user friendly... the gps finally works for apps like point travel assistant ect... suppose to work on curve but never could get mine to work properly... lets see what else... oh the leather case for the curve fits the tour perfectly i can't leave me phone without its case has saved me 100x from a broken phoen... going from a curve 8330 to a tour is a big step up... going from the storm to the tour is simply going from a touch screen POS that doesn't work to a full keyboard with more memory minus the freezing a bug issues... also FYI you can still sell curves online for a good ammount of money so is the tour worth $100 bucks? i'd say so

I wouldn't say that there is a particular feature that makes the Tour better than the Curve... the Tour just takes what the Curve already does and does it better (i.e. much faster/louder/clearer/etc).

I've had my Curve 8330 for about a year now, and have to say it is the most stable and workhorse of a device I've ever used. I've got it loaded with the apps I like/want, set up to my needs exactly, and have no complaints about it whatsoever. Given all that, I must say that after hearing how the Tour is an upgrade from the Curve, I am tempted when I am switched over to Verizon from Alltel in Oct.

I totally agree with u here. From what i've read in regards to the new keyboard on the Tour, I was expecting to be blown away. That's until i actually tried to type on it. It was way too cramped for me. I too prefer the spaces in between the keys in the curve.

Default Tour is simply the next gen of the Curve

I purchased the BB Tour and I have to say, previously being a Curve owner - the Tour is better.
I did have the Storm for a about 2 months and it was wretched. I switched from that back to my Curve.
While I did agree at first with the keyboard argument (spaces between the keys are better), within a day - I was able to type just as fast on the Tour - and the keyboard just feels more solid (less plasticy and clicky). The recessed trackball (whether it technically has as much ball exposed as the Curve or not) did take a little getting used to as the Curve felt more precise. But again - now that I am used to it, it works just as well.
The OS is faster. Apps opening is faster. Browser is faster. Camera is much better....and overall the phone just feels more solid in your hand. Screen res is noticeably better too. For me, it was a worthwhile upgrade.

rather than play with the thigns that are subjective (i.e. the keyboard) the hardware is flat out better.

Better screen resolution
Faster processer
More memory (currently 120mb free on mine)
GPS is faster (no doubt a product of more ram and faster processor)
better camera

Its a significantly better set of hardware. Whether you like the package is up to you, but in the end that's like saying why should I upgrade from a 3 year old computer to a current spec computer.

There are many that like the spacing better on the curve. That is such a subjective thing that it really should not be part of the "what's better" category. I really think the keyboard on the Tour is much better than the curve, but this is just my opinion.

The thing I notice most about going from the curve to the Tour is the speed including the smooth transitions. Although the Curve is a great phone, it was under powered.

Beside this....The camera and screen and the little tweaks made in the OS are a plus for me.

If the Curve is doing everything you want it to do, don't switch.
