White line toward bottom of the screen
- Just like the title says. Anyone else having this? It sucks because after the debacle of exchanging several Storms, a rep offered to change me over to the tour. Other than this line on the screen that is flashing, everything else is working alot better than my previous storms.07-28-09 09:06 PMLike 0
- I already scheduled for the exchange in the morning. Tech tried to blame it on my homescreen wallpaper and had me wipe the device, but it didn't work and I am seeing the line in all screens. It is a little discouraging after the problems with call quality I had with my Storm, the tour seemed to be the answer, and maybe it still is. I know that everyone will jump on me for saying this but Blackberry quality control, specifically with Verizon phones seem to really be questionable. I have two friends with Bolds, that have not had the first problem.07-28-09 09:22 PMLike 0

- Great....... I exchanged my tour today at the Verizon store. The battery door is tight and everything else works great. But now everytime I talk to someone I get "you sound muffled, quit mumbling.....
Build quality really sucks on newly released Blackberries. I know it is a noise cancelling feature because when I switch over from headset to speakerphone the sound quality improves 100% I made a few calls to my work voicemail and can really tell a difference.07-29-09 06:58 PMLike 0 - I just starting having this problem yesterday, and it IS very annoying. Please note that I have the Tour 9630, so for those of you who are planning to switch devices to avoid it, note that this issue will also become yours. I was preparing to go into the store to get a replacement, since I have a 30-day money back guarantee and a warranty, by removing some of my messaging accounts such as AOL, Yahoo and removing my account info from Handango and after doing so, the annoying line went away. I seems like having many programs running in the background is the source of this, but I will keep you posted to see if this is the solution to this very annoying problem.07-30-09 09:32 AMLike 0

sigh, there are a few people having some issues. get a replacement before you go around screaming that the sky is falling...07-30-09 09:42 AMLike 0 - Teksu, you're quite a character! And I will take your advice and get a replacement phone.
Just to clarify, the Tour is a great phone and I have no regrets about my choice to purchase this device. Its just a bit disheartening to spend so much money for something with a defect that has no known solution. A black screen with a line that looks like flashing lightening on your device, that flashes every few seconds, is not something to be content with. Hopefully there is a fix in progress.07-30-09 10:58 AMLike 0 - Guys,
if you have screen ripple, trackball issue and headphone jack issue, its DEFECTIVE, return it, I did and boy am I happy I did. I was hesitant to return because I was afraid I'd have same issues with new phone and it does not. It does have slightly loose batt. cover, but all new phones have this issue. I tried 3 others that had loose batt. covers.
The new phone I got has very miniscule ripple(not even noticeable, you'd have to focus in on the exact spot), trackball works fine and headphone jack works great, right out of the box! I do not have to wiggle the headphone to get the sound right. I just push all the way in and voiiila, the way its suppose to be. To Boot, the Sprint store lady even gave me extra battery, micro SD card and case from my old phone. I forgot to ask her if i could keep the charger, DAM IT! Now Im not saying these issues will not return but at least now I have a phone that did not have these issues right out of the box. Phone I returned was made in Mexico 5 and the new one is also Mexico 5, go figure.
Here's my tip. Go to corporate Sprint store in a NICE UPSCALE NEIGHBORHOOD! I said I had problems and they didn't even want me to show them. They promptly went in the back and got me brand new one. Only issue was that it took 2 hours to get the phone activated but I am a happy camper. Its worth noting that while I was in there 2 hours, 4 people came in and either they were swapping out or returning the phone. One said he had muffled sound that the other person can't hear them, one said headphone jack was messed up, the other one was not happy with their signal strength and that his curve had better signal than Tour and that's why he's returning it, not sure about the 4th one.
So they know Tour's have many defects....so if you have been on the fringe about returning it, I say go ahead and do it. Its worked out great for me!07-30-09 05:56 PMLike 0 - I had a problem like that as well. I got my Tour and noticed that every other time I would get a white rectangle at the bottom of the screen when I would go to lock it. I took it to Sprint and they exchanged it. Now the new phone is doing it too. So i thought maybe it was because of the wallpaper I had set so i switched back to the original wallpaper yet it still does it!08-06-09 06:15 AMLike 0
