Where's it Touring after Verizon?
- So 9630 is all but certainly coming to Verizon Q2 or Q3. What about after that... is there any indication that Sprint is getting it next, or at all?
Speculation aside; are there "insiders" who can say that any carrier OTHER than Verizon is planning for the 9630?04-27-09 09:34 AMLike 0 - So 9630 is all but certainly coming to Verizon Q2 or Q3. What about after that... is there any indication that Sprint is getting it next, or at all?

I talked 2 a rep back in December about a new bb and he did say that it was like the bold but the only difference between it and the curve is it would also have a touchscreen. I wish it was true and we would be gettin it but only time will tell. Honestly, I think we should get it first but if and when we do everything will b even better on our side.

- I also heard that sprint is getting the 9630 as well. And certainly a Canadian carrier will be getting it as well04-27-09 12:56 PMLike 0
- I'm sorry to do this, but I'm pretty sure that's incorrect. Yes I know, but from what I heard, and not from just a CSR or something, but from two people who know a lot about what's going on at Sprint. They didn't get their hands on yet, still waiting till something. But Sprint WILL be getting the 9630.
**hanging my head low over Sprint's shame**and shaking from disgust**
I've been saying that Sprint won't get it until Christmas, but one can always hope. But if Sprint Dev doesn't even have one yet (while the YouTube boy/Chinese lady does), maybe I won't have this phone until next decade (2010).
We've got conflicting information now; Can any insiders refute the blueberry? Bring hope to the Sprint crowd!04-27-09 04:10 PMLike 0 - What?!?! G.A.Y.!

You should also see Telus and Bell release the 9630 around the same time frame.04-27-09 05:05 PMLike 0 - Both VZ and Sprint received pre-production models around the same time; a negligible time from each other. There were no "plans" as you say for either carrier. There is no set exclusive, so either carrier can release it when they deem fit after RIM goes into production for the device.

If you think that's what I meant by "plans" it's not. I know it's not an exclusive, I meant Sprint got changed due to other things. But Verizon is gonna be ahead of Sprint on this phone.04-27-09 05:11 PMLike 0 - Sprint has a separate team testing the 9630, so the Pre wouldn't affect the 9630 at all. The 9630 has not even been officially announced by RIM, let alone a carrier, so unless the 9630 was going to come out within a few weeks, it would not affect the Pre launch what so ever. I'm not sure why this was a secret by you? Not looking to argue, just not sure why you couldnt get "into it" as you said before. Most Pre stuff is public knowledge already.04-27-09 07:26 PMLike 0

Sprint is holding back on the Pre until after RIM releases the 9630. Sounds like you're saying that 9630 will be released by Sprint before they release Pre (but thats not right, right?).
1. RIM announces 9630
2. Sprint fizzles the Pre
3. VZW releases 9630
4. Sprint wishes they had invested more effort in finally having a BB first, rather than bothering with the Pre dud
5. Sprint releases 9630 just after Christmas 2009 (missing the holiday season)
Do I have this right?Last edited by theadrock13; 04-27-09 at 08:09 PM.
04-27-09 08:06 PMLike 0 - Because I'm stupid, let me be sure I'm clear:

- He is exactly right..... The reason they are not going to be launching same time as pre , is because they want all the buzz to be about the pre , they would be dumb as rocks to launch the 9630 at the same time as the pre.04-27-09 08:20 PMLike 0
- But as long as they release it in a good amount of time after it won't be too dumb. They just can't wait very long after.04-27-09 08:24 PMLike 0
- Exactly..... i mean they need to wait a good 6 months , before they launch the 9630, IF they want the PRE to be the focus and bring in the big bucks.04-27-09 08:27 PMLike 0
- Yeah at least 5-6 months, probably longer. But I think it will bring in the big bucks, then when the 9630 comes, it'll bring in even more big bucks for Sprint. And hopefully, not too many of those people didn't already switch to Verizon for the 9630 for an earlier release.04-27-09 08:31 PMLike 0

- Yeah i think ALOT of sprint users will upgrade to the pre , i mean **** the only other goodish touch screen the got is the instinct , so this will be a nice treat for sprint.. i honestly can say i belive the pre will be bigger to sprint then the storm was to verizon. maybe lol04-27-09 09:04 PMLike 0
