what verizon in store cs said about the battery door... lmao
- I went in the store asking for a new battery door (since its loose and a big gap) they told me to put a business card or a piece of paper behind the battery... I believe they think this will work for all phones... Lol... That may be the case for the storm but for the tour?! They should get re-trained on the phone... Are there any cb'ers out there that found a way to resolve this matter?

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com07-13-09 04:37 PMLike 0 - This is a bit risky for a day old phone but it reduced the amount my battery door moved a little bit.
The door tends to move because it is bowed out ever so slightly, so i tool a hair dryer and heated the battery door, then i curved it in the reverse direction and let it cool while it was curved, it didnt solve the problem completly but it did make the gap smaller.
Disclaimer, i take no responsibility for broken doors, if you try this it is at your own risk.07-13-09 04:38 PMLike 0 - If it is a well documented issue then they should replace it no questions asked. What I can't figure out is why after all the issues with the Storm's build quality did RIM decided to let this out the door with all be it a very small issue? Are the battery door issues coming from Canada or Mexico?07-13-09 04:38 PMLike 0
- As far as I can see, the only fix is a new door that isn't warped or mis-shaped. Jamming paper, cards, foam, felt and all of the other witchcraft that you see recommended is not a fix. The cover has a manufacturing defective. VZW should, and that's a big should, allow owners to replace the cover so that it's seated firmly.07-13-09 04:39 PMLike 0

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com07-13-09 05:35 PMLike 0 - I beg to differ. In my case the battery door gap is quite obvious and the cover moves up/down and side-to-side freely. It is clearly misshapen and the gap on one bottom edge is so bad you can see underneath the cover. But what do I know? I'm just whining about every single nit-picky thing under the sun.07-13-09 05:50 PMLike 0
- TheSultanThe Sultan of CrackBerryMaybe there are varying degrees of "loose" that people are experiencing. I definitely see a little bit of play in mine, but it isn't anything to care much about.
I personally, think people here have shell shock from the P.O.S. Storm and are looking for flaws.07-13-09 05:54 PMLike 0 - dont get it....can someone describe to me the problem with the battery door because i cant see any. All there i can see is a tiny tiny crease in the door that is barelly noticable but that cant be what you guys are talking about?07-13-09 06:12 PMLike 0

The same thing goes for the Storm and other Blackberries. We shouldn't have to *tweak* a brand new couple hundred dollar device.07-13-09 06:25 PMLike 0 -
My door was loose. Not as bad as some are saying. I cannot see under the door into the back of the phone. but it's loose to the touch sliding up and down and showing a little gap that.
My solution? took off the door and bent it a little. In on the sides and on the bottom (where lock is). Its just plastic. When i clicked it back on its tighter with no gaps......at worst this is a VERY simple thing to try if you're having issues.07-13-09 06:28 PMLike 0 -
we took a good door and swapped it with the phones that had problems and it took care of it. it is a battery door issue.07-13-09 06:28 PMLike 0 - the electrical tape sounds good but i would wrap a few pieces of it round the battery to take up the space, kinda sucks ya gotta come up with sh** like this you spend so much good money on cell phones and such07-13-09 06:36 PMLike 0
- mine was extremely loose. my replacement (replaced for the headphone jack not working, not the battery door) is really really good. required half of the tape on the battery to keep it in place.07-13-09 06:40 PMLike 0
- What did you do with the good phones that now that had the defected doors replaced from the ones that had the problem? Put them back on the shelf to be sold? If the door us going to be sent back. why didn't you do that in the first place?07-13-09 06:41 PMLike 0
