So I recently switched from a Curve to a Tour.. actually yesterday Love the phone.. great job RIM.

Weird issue..

My girlfriend has Alltel/Verizon and when I use her speed dial key to dial her (her number includes both a 1 and our area code, it previously only had the area code and her number) it asks me to "please type in an area code... "

so i thought well thats weird.. tried it again. same thing.

so i dialed it normally.. works fine

any ideas what this issue might be?

I had to edit about 1/4 of my contacts when I went form a Q9 to the Tour. ended up with multiples and all kinds of crazy stuff. Edit her number, take out the 1 and re save he rto the speed dial number and try it again.

Go to PHONE > MENU > OPTIONS > SMART DIALING. On entries 2 and 3, enter (10) and 'No' respectively.
