    Folks,

I just ordered my Tour through my corporate account (through my company).

The price was indeed $99. ( I had a $100 NE2 discount) But I got charged $47.77 in taxes. Accord to my person at work they charge tax according the to the full retail price of $489.99.

Does this sound correct to you guys who ordered through your corporate programs ?

You should be charged tax on the dollar amount of which you paid. Anything else would be, well, probably illegal.

Heres what my admin had to say at first.

*Some states require us to compute sales tax on the full retail price or inventory cost of the device you purchase. The sales tax charged on your device was based on $489.99

It goes by STATE requirements....geez since when do companies get to keep tax money?! Second thing if you got a new Tour that normally costs $199 for new people for under $50....why worry about it?

Actually it was $147.77 ($100 for the phone + $47.77 for the tax). The company doesn't keep the money. It has to come from my pocket. I just would have thought the tax they charge would be on the $199 not $489.

Not worried just very curious. My NE 2 discount applied. With my samsung i730 - I think they should give it for free - for having to put up with it for so long.

Through a long and very complex story I was able to stay with VZW. My company was forcing everyone to go with a particular GSM carrier which had no 3G BBs.
