Ok so i"m new to the forums first post and all (Hello Everyone). Now that is out of the way. I spoke to a rep not to long ago about the pricing for annual upgrade since the verizon site said i was eligable. She said that i was a VIP which I didnt know, but anyway she said pricing for walkins is *** follows.
269.99 - 50.00 . so that's 219.99 upfront then the 70.00 rebate. Sorry if this was alreaddy posted buut i've yet to see a straight up answer on pricing!

I believe thats right. I am also a VIP customer and have never bought a phone through their VIP program. My brother got a 8330 a few months after I bought mine. He bought his on my mothers account who is also a VIP customer. The rep gave him tons of accessories at no extra charge, he paid the same as I did for mine. He was given a car charger, seido belt clip, latex skin, and an extra headset. Can anyone explain this????

If you're talking about VZW, you should be able to upgrade to the Tour for $99. I'm not sure what the VIP program is... I think I qualified for that once by having a huge phone cell bill every month Then I got smart and switched my plan, and my cost went down and the VIP program went away.

Anyway, the price above is based on NE2, but it's only been about 18 mo since my last phone upgrade.

But $99 Tour would be $269 - $70 online discount - $100 NE2 if they give it to you on a primary line.

I'm getting $149 (fingers crossed) with pseudo-VIP on second line. It took 8 calls and multiple escalations.

When I called in to try and pre order the phone...the rep said I only get a $50 credit..

The NE2 gives you $50 off the two year price...It's no longer $100.. So it shouldd be more like $270-$70 rebate-$50 NE2 = $150

yea i forgot to say it is verizon. The annual upgrade is valued the same as NE2 50$ off. so after the MIF it comes to 149.99

Once you upgrade your primary line or lowered your calling plan, your ne2 cr drops to $50 or $30. Reason is people weren't using the cr so they lowered it.

My NE2 upgrade was available 11/07 (I've been patiently waiting on the right phone to replace my dumb Razr), and my Tour pricing will be:

$269.99 - $70.00 MIR - $100.00 NE2 = $99.99 eventually out of pocket with a new 2 yr. contract.

I'm in the same boat as you, going to use the $100 NE2. In the future our NE2 credits will drop to only $50 (see the post above, Verizon changed the program in Feb 09). I believe your cost will be (as will mine):

$269.99 - $100.00 NE2 = $169.99 less $ 70.00 MIR = Final Cost $99.99

Verizon's materials state "If your calling plan monthly access is $79.99 or higher" that you get the higher NE2 credit. So since you signed the contract prior to Feb '09, you should get the $100 discount. So that makes your net price for the Tour $99.99.

$269.99 price - $70 rebate (instant if online, mail-in if instore) - $100 NE2 - $99.99

But definitely call up and ask them to verify the amount of your NE2 that they are showing. If it's incorrect (as mine was), they can put a note in the account so that if you end up going to the store to get the phone you won't be hassled.

thanks for the info. I just wanted to be armed with with some info before going into the battle field. I got my 8330 the day it came out (it was my first BB) and I feel I could have gotten it cheaper than what I payed.

I used my yearly VIP upgrade last year for the storm and I'm now thinking of getting the Tour because the Storm has been annoying me for a while. How much does the phone cost to just buy outright? I figure I can make up some of the difference by putting the storm on ebay.

Yup this is well said...I was just about to post and say the same thing...I am also getting a $100 credit with my current NE2, and after this it will drop to $50 but we are able to upgrade annually.. Originally i thought i was only going to save 50 but it will actualy be 100 this time around.. So i'll have my tour for only 100.... Damn thats gonna be sweet!!!

You will leave the store paying $169.99 and will than have a $70.00 rebate to fill out and mail.
