I just spoke to high level person at verizon and he told me that the release date for the Tour is July 25th. Not sure if this helps anybody... but I keep seeing many requests on when it will actually be released.

that better be false. lol i am already contemplating just getting the dang Curve because i'm so sick of waiting.

and that would mean that it only has a rebate for 8 days? since the rebates end on august 1st...

The rebate for the Tour doesn't end August 1st... The rebate SHEET expires on August 1st and then a new one is issued with new phones (if any) and old ones (Tour). Just like the Storm is still on rebate shows now the Tour's rebate will continue far past August 1st.
