I gave up waiting. Sprint's official release is fine. It's worth it. I was always hesitant to upgrade to 5.0. Just do it already. It runs like a champ.

Considering the main page of CB shows that PTT will be available 3/30 for the blackberry tour I'm sure OS 5 will either release that day or a few days before for verizon customers. They couldnt make it available without an upgrade.

They have already announced that it will be $5 per line per month. And each person with whom you wish to communicate via PTT will have to have it on their account and have a PTT enabled device.

You cannot download the PTT application without the MPTT module on your phone, correct? The only place we've seen the MPTT module has been in the 5.0.0.530 (awful mess) 5.0.0.548 (much better but browser click error) leaks! Would this mean then that well have to see 5.0 for the 9630 in order for the PTT to work?

Is there any other way to get the MPTT on the phone besides the leaked files? I have to be incorrect though. Kevin and friends would have made the PTT = VZW5.0 connection on the front page if this were the case. Can someone who knows about the MPTT files please explain? Is it a group of files they could push to us? Doesn't seem like it would be comparable to the BING app or the SocialBeat thing...

How about we all just wait until march 30 to see what happens. Either the person who started this thread will be correct or he won't be. When this date comes he will be appreciated for 15 seconds or hated for 15. We have all waited this long so we can wait longer.

Read the posting carefully. It says PTT service will be available "WITH A SOFTWARE UPGRADE" Not an application download.

MPTT modules are not and will not be available on 4.7. Let's think about it Big Red releases push to talk on tour. Current os does not have capabilities therefore a SW upgrade is essential. So when PTT is available on 3/30/2010 OS 5 will be released also to support the PTT function....

Yes. Its not the issue of having the file, its the issue that verizon wont let us play until they are ready and the official os is released.. Someone tried, actually begged them and they said no..

But based on the info in this pic, it looks like its only available with the 5.0 upgrade so I would say it wont be pushed..
