Default Unlocked Verizon BlackBerry Tour wont read my AT&T SIM card? help!!

Im new to blackberry and recently bought an unlocked tour from a company called "upgrade solutions"
everything seems to be working fine with the phone, besides the fact that it doesn't detect my SIM card?
even when the card is in, it says "insert sim" on the home screen and where your bars would be it says "SOS"
ive had the phone for about 3 weeks now just trying to figure the damn thing out!
ive tried almost everything to fix it... ANY suggestions?

Have you tried a different sim? A handheld wipe? OS reload? Also inspect the contact pins where the sim goes for any damage.

The phone will stay unlocked after it was unlocked once but first make sure that it's really unlocked - go to the SIM card security menu (Oprions > Advanced options > SIM card > Type M E P D ) you will see a few lines and a status for each line (Active / Disabled) if the second line that says "Network" is "Active" your Blackberry is not unlocking. and you need to unlock it by typing "M E P 2" from the same screen and inserting the unlock code for your Blackberry.
